BDWA appreciates the financial support of these entities:

City and County of Broomfield

City of Westminster

City of Northglenn

Adams County

Weld County

Woman Creek Reservoir Authority

Partners

The City and County of Broomfield, the Cities of Westminster and Northglenn, Adams County, and Weld County are the primary local governments supporting the efforts of the Watershed Association. These entities have provided and continue to provide both in-kind and cash contributions to the Watershed Association. Representatives from these local governments serve on the Big Dry Creek Watershed Association Board of Directors, providing critical guidance and support. The Woman Creek Reservoir Authority also provides significant financial support that enables a variety of scientific evaluations of conditions along Big Dry Creek.

The U.S. Department of Energy and its contractors at Rocky Flats also historically provided critical financial, technical and other in-kind support for the activities of the Watershed Association prior to decommissioning and decontamination completion in 2005. Rocky Flats is a key feature in the headwaters area upstream of Standley Lake. Activities and water quality protection efforts at Rocky Flats directly influence water quality and quantity in Walnut Creek, which is tributary to Big Dry Creek. Rocky Flats is now a wildlife refuge.

The Watershed Association welcomes participation of citizens and local governments in its activities. In addition to the Board of Directors, many representatives from other local governments and agencies support the Association. For example, the City of Thornton, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Colorado Water Quality Control Division, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service, Denver Regional Council of Governments, and landowners are also valuable participants.

Wright Water Engineers, Inc., provides on-going watershed coordination services to the Watershed Association with Jane Clary serving as the watershed coordinator. Please contact Jane Clary or any of the following Board of Directors for more information on becoming involved with the Big Dry Creek Watershed Association.
